Interstate recognition of General Safety Induction cards in the ACT

As with all states and territories in Australia, ACT recognises nationally accredited construction induction training, which means that White Cards from other states or territories are accepted in ACT.

After completing the course and assessment, learners are given a White Card from Western Australia, which is mutually recognised in ACT.

Refer to Worksafe ACT for further information.

Does the certification expire?

Once the course has successfully been completed there is no mandatory requirement to repeat the training. However, the national code of practice for construction induction training, which is an advisory document, provides an option for repeat training if a person leaves the industry for more than two years, or, if the employer considers repeat training necessary.

Hence, It may be the case that some employers require repeat induction training, in accordance with the code, as part of safety and health management processes.
