Nationwide this is a legal requirement for all workers in the construction industry to undertake general construction induction training, commonly referred to as the “White Card”.


How can I get the Construction Induction Card?

You can obtain a white card after completing of the White Card Training course and assessment with a training provider who is an accredited Registered Training Organisation (RTO) for the course. Fluro is an RTO and provides a simple and easy to use learning platform to complete the course online.

Interstate recognition of General Safety Induction cards in Victoria

As with every state and territory in Australia, Victoria recognises this nationally accredited construction induction training. This means that White Cards from other states or territories are accepted in Victoria.

After completing the Fluro White Card course and assessment, learners are sent a White Card from WA. This is a mutually recognised certification in Victoria.

Does this White Card expire?

Once White Card training has been successfully completed there is no mandatory requirement to repeat the training. However you may be required to repeat this if;

  • You have left the industry for more than 2 years
  • Your employer requires you to repeat as a requirement to their safety processes

In New South Wales, the WorkCover Authority currently state that if you have not carried out construction work for any consecutive period of two years or more, the White Card ceases to be current. For further information please refer NSW WorkCover.
